YOUR GUIDE

My name is Lori Baker. I have spent my life exploring new interests and found a few that I really love.

Motorbiking has been a passion of mine since my husband taught me to ride many, many years ago.  From that very first lesson, I was hooked.  Over the years, I went from being a student in the safety courses, to teaching them.  I have ridden dirt bikes in northern Vietnam and cornered in Deals Gap through Tennessee and into North Carolina. I've experienced Daytona Bike Week, as well as guided new riders on multi-day trips.  I've even ridden a '47 Indian Chief..... not an easy thing to do with its primitive controls, but what a feeling of accomplishment learning something new! And I may have even been part of naming our kids after bikes....

I first tried stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) on a windy day with lots of waves. I probably should have given up then, but I had too much fun despite the challenges.  I bought my first board right away, and started joining midnight paddles, and paddleboard yoga classes.  While I have taught some friends to SUP, and we love our day paddles (usually with some kind of picnic), I really love using my board to go camping.  Quite often, one of my teenage sons tags along and we bring the dog, or friends join.  Sometimes I go alone.  After one such trip, I posted photos in an online group and I received many comments indicating that some people think they could never do that on their own. They said they wouldn't know what to do.

And here's where the idea of Joy Trippin' Adventures started....... I want to show women how they too can explore on their motorbike, or on their paddleboard without relying on someone else to follow.  I am not an instructor, nor am I a Tour-Guide.  I am a woman who loves independence and adventure. Think of me as a coach. I want to empower women to create their own adventures.

I also offer a variety of workshops and coaching sessions.  Want to de-stress? Set goals? Need a ride buddy to help you build your confidence on the road? Please check out the links at the top of the page to see what is currently available.
